always been interested in art and hoped to make it a career. In 1971 he
gave up painting to open a sign business and has continued that career
for 32 years as well as being a full time Firefighter. He retired from
the San Angelo Fire Department in 1994, currently continuing with his
sign business and reviving his love of art. In 1999 Rebel decided to
master photorealistic art with an airbrush. He mostly paints with an
airbrush, but many of his paintings are mixed media. People and wildlife
are his passion. He sells original art and canvas prints.
Rebel recently
had a painting of a screaming eagle with the United States flag
reflecting in his eye purchased by a fellow Texan and given as a gift to
a friend that works at the Pentagon. It will hang in the meeting room
for the Joint Chiefs of Staff. He also has a painting hanging in NASA.
